Ezdina Organization has dedicated its sixteenth dialogue session within the project "A Constitution That Protects Us" for women, civil activists and media professionals in the city of Tirbespiyê/Al-Qahtaniya.
Ezdina held its sixteenth dialogue session on the work of the Constitutional Committee and the Geneva Conferences within its project "A Constitution That Protects Us" in North and East Syria, on June 12, 2021 at the Yazidi House in the city of Tirbespiyê/Al-Qahtaniya, in the presence of women, civil activists, politicians and media figures.
Democratic Union Party member, Jawaher Tamo said that they have criticisms, as women, on the constitution drafting committee due to the lack of adequate representation of women and the exclusion of women in Northeastern Syria from the committee.
Tamo added that they also criticize the non-participation of representatives of Northeastern Syria, represented by the Autonomous Administration, within the committee.
Tamo indicated that as women, they call the international community that this committee does not represent them, adding that they clarified their rights and demands from the constitution through the dialogue session.
In turn, Nisreen Ibrahim, explained that the session was very useful to them, as they had ideas and information about the Syrian constitution and many political matters.
Ibrahim added that there is no one in the constitutional committee who represents her as a Kurdish citizen, noting that they have their rights and demand that their voice be heard.
For her part, a member of the Kurdistan Fraternity Party, Hiyam al-Nahit, confirmed that their session was effective and positive regarding women and the constitution, noting the importance of informing society about the constitution-drafting process.
Al-Nahit called for women to be included in the decisions that concern them, because women's opinion is important to all citizens.
It is noteworthy that Ezdina launched a new project in Northeastern Syria, under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us", starting from February 23, 2021 for a period of three months.
