Ezdina Organization has allocated its thirteenth dialogue session within the project "A Constitution That Protects Us" to representatives of religious and national minorities in the city of Hasaka, in North and East of Syria.
The session was held at Khabour hall in the city of Hasaka, on the second of June, in the presence of representatives of religious and national minorities in the city and its countryside, where they discussed the Syrian Constitutional Committee and the demands and proposals of representatives of religious and national minorities on drafting a new constitution for Syria.
The coordinator of activities at Pêl Organization, Hajar Amin, said that the session was beneficial to the participants as it is the first session they attend about the constitution.
Amin added that the session brought them into the atmosphere of the Constitutional Committee, especially the "recommendations" paragraph, which was very important for expressing their views as youth, civil society and components in the region.
For her part, Armenian Council member Armina Al-Abdullah said that they suggested key points on the subject of the constitution during the session, noting that the session contributed to clarifying important information about the constitution, especially since they did not have enough information about it.
Al-Abdullah added that all components, whether they are Yezidis, Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs or Assyrians, must be represented within the constitutional committee, to reach a viable constitution in which every component is represented in it.
Al-Abdullah indicated that there is no representative of the Armenian component in the Constitutional Committee at present, hoping that the Armenian component will be represented in the Constitutional Committee in the future.
In turn, the member of the Khabour Association, Masoud Seydo, stressed that the percentage of women's participation in the constitutional committee should be more than now.
Seydo pointed out the importance of activating the role of youth in society, as they constitute a great energy within societies.
It is noteworthy that Ezdina launched a new project in Northastern Syria, under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us", starting from February 23, 2021 for a period of three months.
