In the second axis, a member of the Constitutional Committee, Dr. Dorsen Oskan, joined the session via the “Zoom”, to talk about the establishment and composition of the Constitutional Committee and the drawbacks on the representation of the Committee, in addition to talking about the main reasons for the failure of the Constitutional Committee in its work so far.
Then the discussion was opened between the participants and a member of the Constitutional Committee, Dr. Dorsen Oskan in order to address the most important objectives of this committee, how to form it and who chose them.
Then the session facilitator divided the attendees into two groups to develop and discuss a set of recommendations and proposals, to arrive at several general proposals that were agreed upon by all participants.
Session results:
At the conclusion of the dialogue session, the attendees agreed on a set of recommendations and proposals to be submitted to the Syrian Constitutional Committee, which included:
- Involving North and East Syria represented by the Autonomous Administration in the Constitutional Committee.
- The form of the state should be pluralistic and decentralized.
- Recognition of the Kurdish and Syriac languages as an official national language.
- Recognition of all religions in Syria.
- Freedom of religious practice.
- Separation of religion and state.
- Fair representation of both genders in all aspects of life.
- The candidate for the presidency of the Syrian Republic should have Syrian nationality since birth.
- Not specifying the religion and gender of the candidate for the presidency.
- Equitable distribution of resources.
- Activating the role of youth in all political, social and economic fields.
