
Ezdina Organization held its tenth dialogue session within the project “A Constitution That Protects Us” for representatives of religious and national minorities in the city of Amuda, North and East of Syria, at the Kulturvan Center, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, where they discussed the Syrian Constitutional Committee and the demands and proposals of representatives of religious and national minorities on drafting a new constitution for Syria.
The Kurdish activist Issa Sheikho, expressed the importance of participating in these sessions held by Ezdina in the various regions of Al-Jazira region, pointing out that the subject of the constitution is very important for all components of society over the entire Syrian geography.
Sheikho added that the dialogue sessions help in one way or another, through meetings, dialogues and opinions, to form a common public opinion so that the new Syrian constitution is complete and fulfills all the hopes of the Syrian people.
In turn, human rights activist Maher Shekaki, said that such sessions are very important for all components of the region to express their views, whether they are from the general public, legal professionals, or those interested in religious affairs.
Shekaki added that these sessions can achieve their desired goals if they are communicated to the authorities concerned with writing the Syrian constitution or to the constitutional committee that was formed years ago, or if the sponsors of such sessions undertake to communicate the results to the concerned authorities.

In turn, the facilitator of the dialogue session, Dr. Abeer Hassaf, explained that the session is the second physical session to be held in the city of Amuda, is a special session for the religious specialists, pointing to the participation of representatives from the Christian, Islamic and Yazidi religions in the session.
Dr. Hassaf added that the aim of the session is to poll the participants' opinions, and to shed light on what is happening in foreign policy with regard to resolving the Syrian crisis.
Hassaf indicated that during the session, the Geneva conferences and their results were discussed, and the issue of the constitution or the constitutional committee was discussed, and the previous Syrian constitutions were shed light on and how the current constitutional committee was formed.
Hassaf pointed out that the participants in the session drafted some proposals and recommendations regarding the constitution, in order to gather as many of these opinions, proposals and recommendations, to contribute to the success of the process of writing a future constitution for Syria.
It is noteworthy that Ezdina launched a new project in Northeastern Syria, under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us", starting from February 23, 2021, for a period of three months.
