Ezdina Organization conducted an opinion poll in the city of Hasaka on the work of the Constitutional Committee and the Geneva Conferences, and their suggestions and recommendations to ensure a constitution that fulfills the demands of all the Syrian people.
The participants in the poll criticized the deliberate representation of the components of northeastern Syria within the constitutional committee, and the mechanism which due to it the members of the committee were selected.
A Yazidi participant in the poll demanded the rights of Yazidis to be preserved constitutionally, and that interfaith equality be achieved in the constitution so that injustice does not fall on any of the religious components.
One of the participants said that women inside the Constitutional Committee are not entitled to speak on their behalf because, there are no women representatives of North and East Syria within the committee.
One of the participants pointed out the importance of preserving the rights of all components in the constitution, and constitutionally fixing the rights of the Kurdish people, and to preserve the rights of all minorities.
One of the participants emphasized that the constitution is an important in the life of the Syrian people, pointing out that the constitution must derive its legitimacy from the Syrian people.
It is noteworthy that Ezdina held its first dialogue session in the city of Hasaka on the first Thursday of April 2021, with the participation of a group of young women and men, representatives of civil society organizations and institutions, as part of its project "A Constitution That Protects Us".
