The member of Ezdina's media office, Avin Sheikhmous, said in a statement to Welati News that the Ezdina Organization is holding a dialogue session under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us" in cooperation with the US State Department and in coordination with the DT Institute.
Sheikhmous added that the Ezdina launched its new project on February 23 in northerneastern Syria, with activities that included 18 sessions over a period of three months a month under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us".
Sheikhmous added that the aim of the project is to introduce the components and representatives of religions in northerneastern Syria to the Syrian constitution, which has been working on it in Geneva since 2019.
Sheikmous indicated that most of the Syrian people do not know what provisions should be placed in the new Syrian constitution, and also do not know the parties who will draft the new Syrian constitution based on several questionnaires.
Sheikhmos emphasized that the importance of launching the new Ezdina project, "A Constitution That Protects Us," through specialists in this field, comes to familiarize the components of society with the functions of the Constitutional Committee, in addition to coming up with recommendations from the participants and communicating them transparently to the Constitutional Committee, hoping that the Syrian people will gain their rights in the new constitution.
For his part, the facilitator of the dialogue session, lawyer, human rights activist, Omar Ali, said that the nine stations in Geneva were talked about with regard to resolving the Syrian conflict, apart from other international conferences.
Ali added that the Syrian constitution or the body concerned with the Syrian constitution that was formed by the United Nations was discussed, its establishment, its mechanism of action, obstacles and decision-making mechanism were discussed, pointing out that the dialogue sessions will come out with a set of proposals and settlements about the existence of a better working mechanism for the Constitutional Committee.
