Masoud Mohammad, a professor at Rojava University, said that it is important to allocate at least 25 percent of chairs in the administrative institutions and political work to young women.
Mohammad’s speech came during his intervention in the second dialogue session held by Ezdina Organization as part of the project "A Constitution That Protects Us", on Monday, at the organization's office in the city of Qamishlo/Qamishli, in the presence of young women and men, and civic activists.
He added that the percentage of youth representation in the Constitutional Committee is currently considered very low and almost non-existent, stressing the need for good representation of young people, in order to achieve the will and aspirations of young people in the future.
Mohammad indicated that the right of young people to form and establish political parties must be protected in order to effectively engage in decision-making.
Mohammad stressed the need to increase the youth’s self-confidence by drafting their own laws that contribute to increasing their involvement in political and administrative work.
It is noteworthy that Ezdina Organization launched a new project, in northeastern Syria, under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us", started on February 23, 2021, for a period of three months.
