The leader of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria (Al-Parti), Nasreddin Ibrahim, said that there must be a decentralized, pluralistic democratic system that recognizes the existence of all nationalities such as Kurds and Syriacs, recognizes the existence of all religions, based on the principle of separating religion from the state.
Ibrahim's speech came during his participation in the fifth dialogue session held by Ezdina Organization, last Thursday, in the city of Qamishlo/Qamishli within the project "A Constitution That Protects Us", in the presence of political leaders and representatives of political parties in the northeastern regions of Syria.
Ibrahim explained that the political process aims to reach a comprehensive political solution for all of Syria, but the crisis is managed at the expense of the blood of Syrians and increasing their tragedy.
Ibrahim pointed out that the Syrian constitutional crisis is caused by the form of the state and the existence of totalitarian dictatorial regimes.
Ibrahim added that the solution must be non-sectarian and credible, and the religion of the head of state should not be specified, and that all the solution is to adopt a secular system that recognizes all Syrian religious beliefs.
The Kurdish politician said that the Syrian Constitutional Committee is the result of the Sochi Conference, and the names that have been included in the opposition delegation and civil society are the result of in-depth studies of the intelligence of the countries sponsoring Sochi, namely Iran, Russia and Turkey.
Ibrahim demanded the representation of all nationalities and religions in all Syrian regions within the constitutional committee, so that there would be representatives of the Druz, Alawites and Yazidis.
Ibrahim pointed out the importance of the presence of "supra-constitutional points", whereby a 1 percent component cannot change an article in the constitution or even a 15 percent component such as the Kurds or others by changing it.
Ibrahim added that the constitution cannot be presented in a referendum in this way if the committee produces a constitution, because according to the current data, the transition will be made from tyranny to another tyranny by ignoring the components and their rights.
The leader of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria (Al-Parti) concluded his speech by saying that Syria needs to repeat this point, indicating that the Syrian state, since its inception, was of a federal character and its name is the Republic of Syria and its flag has changed more than once, adding that the Syrian crisis will not see a solution. If the Constitutional Committee works this way.
