Mustafa Mashayekh, leader of the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (Yekiti), said that the dialogue session held by Ezdina Organization contributed to inform the participants about what is happening in the corridors of Geneva on the path of the political process on Syria.
His speech came during his participation in the fifth dialogue session held by Ezdina, on Thursday March 25 2021, in the city of Qamishlo/Qamishli, as part of the project "A Constitution That Protects Us", in the presence of political leaders and representatives of political parties in the North and East of Syria.
Mashayekh added that the member of the constitutional committee, Dr. Dorsen confirmed that everyone remained in the first point and did not proceed to the second point, which was confirmed by the United Nations envoy who sponsored these dialogues that there was no point in all these dialogues so far.
The Kurdish politician indicated that there are multiple reasons for the inability of the Syrians to draft a constitution in their country that would be able to meet the aspirations of all the Syrian people of all components.
Mashayekh added that there were several paths to solve the Syrian crisis, but they did not succeed for several reasons, including the Syrian regime’s mentality that relies on exclusion, disrupting institutions, non-acceptance of the other.
Mashayekh added that the dispersion of the Syrian national movement, including the Kurdish movement, and the dependence of some of them on regional power that does not want freedom for the Syrian people, is the second reason for the lack of success in reaching a solution to the Syrian crisis.
Mashayekh added that the third reason for the Syrians not reaching to resolve the crisis, is the interference of countries such as Turkey, Iran, Russia and some Arab countries, the lack of desire from the international community to solve the crisis, and the failure to follow up on the implementation of UN Resolution 2254.
The leader of the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party, pointed out the importance of communication to discuss such topics of interest to the Syrians and their future, in order to reach an understanding and rapprochement about a future vision for Syria.
