The independent politician, Hussein Azam, said that the future constitution of Syria belongs to the Syrians alone, that the drafting and writing of this constitution is the responsibility of the Syrians, and the constitution will be presented to the people to vote on it.
Azam’s speech came during his participation in the fifth dialogue session held by Ezdina Organization, last Thursday, in the city of Qamishlo/Qamishli, as part of its project "A Constitution That Protects Us", in the presence of political leaders and representatives of political parties in the North and East of Syria.
Azam wondered why the Autonomous Administration was not represented within the Constitutional Committee despite the passage of nearly two years since the establishment of the committee, and despite the fact that there are /5/ millions of Syrians living in this region, meaning that one third of the Syrian people who live in the Autonomous Administration areas are not represented within the Constitutional Committee.
Azam said that how the constitution would be presented to the Syrian people to vote, especially in the northeastern regions of Syria in light of the lack of representation of the Autonomous Administration within the Constitutional Committee, and the marginalization of this region from the negotiations and the political process.
