The political activist, Darav Qasim, said that constitutional articles must be put in place that prevent any changes to the rights, freedom, and beliefs of other nationalities and sects in the constitution by any incoming parliamentary majority.
Qasim, who comes from the town of Girkê Legê and lives in Basel, Switzerland, participated in a written message about the upcoming Syrian constitution, which was read during the second dialogue session held by Ezdina Organization in the city of Qamishlo.
Qasim added that there must be international guarantees to implement the laws that are written in the constitution, pointing out that the problem in the region is not making laws, but ignoring them or not applying them to remain ink on paper.
Qasim pointed out that laws must also be put in place in the constitution that allow part of the wealth of the eastern regions, "Deir Ezzor, Raqqa and Hasaka," to be placed under the clause of modernizing the infrastructure, the health system, energy and education, pointing out that as a young man from the east of the Euphrates he suffered from the absence of job opportunities for young people.
Qasim noted that those eastern cities should be allowed to issue special laws related to attracting investment to them without waiting for the approval of the central government in Damascus.
It is noteworthy that Ezdina Organization launched a new project, in northeastern Syria, under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us", started on February 23, 2021, for a period of three months.
