Ezdina Organization organized a dialogue session for women as part of a project it launched in February under the title “A Constitution That Protects Us”.
The session was held at Ezdina's office in Qamishlo/Qamishli, in the presence of a group of women, civil activists, and representatives of women's organizations in the region.
The participants discussed topics related to the Syrian Constitutional Committee, the Geneva conferences and their results, and the political process in Syria, in addition to the UN Resolution 2254 issued by the UN Security Council.
Sidar Othman, a representative of a civil society organization in north and east Syria, said that a quota system must be adopted with regard to the quota for women's participation, calling for a constitution compatible with a gender perspective to ensure the participation of women in decision-making.
In his turn, Omar Ali, a human rights activist, stressed the importance of ensuring participation in the Syrian Constitutional Committee in order to guarantee the rights of women in the future.
He added that the women participating in the session agreed on a set of recommendations and proposals to submit to the Syrian Constitutional Committee regarding the percentage of women’s representation, abolishing texts and laws that discriminate against women, adopting a women's quota system within the composition of parliament, local administrations and government agencies.

Ezdina Organization dedicated its second dialogue session, which was held, on Monday, to the young group, where a group of young women and men, civic activists participated in the session.
It is noteworthy that Ezdina Organization launched its new project, in northeastern Syria, under the title "A Constitution That Protects Us", starting from February 23, 2021.
